This book of 336 pages is a compilation of ‘Shipping’ in North Queensland (Australia) waters from 1939 to 1942. it includes the arrival and departure dates of all vessels (large and small, military and merchant) that entered the ports of Mackay, Bowen, Townsville, Lucinda, Cairns, Port Douglas, Cooktown, Port Stewart, Portland Road and Thursday Island.

Researched and compiled by Peter Nielsen (ex WOETSM). Cost $69 plus $8 postage. This book has been nominated for the Queensland Premier’s Literary Awards (2004) - Best History Book.

Volume 3 will be a further continuation of ‘Shipping’ from 1944 to 1946. In its ‘Diary’ format, this will be the nearest one will get to an official history of shipping in North Queensland waters during WWII.
Volumes 4 to 6 will concentrate on Army and Airforce activities,
Volume 7 will contain a combined Index and Supplements.
